Salted Caramel Matcha Latte

This recipe totally came to be accidentally. My favorite daily matcha has maple syrup in it and one day I added sea salt to the top and how a bulging eye aha moment. YES! It tasted like salted caramel without all the crappy ingredients and an intense amount of cane sugar. 

So I ran with it and found a yummy way to make a vegan and refined sugar-free caramel sauce. It is honestly drool-worthy! 

INGREDIENTS: 

  • 3/4 cup plant milk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1-2 tsp pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp Matcha Nude
  • 1/8 tsp coarse sea salt

HOW TO:

  • In either a warming milk frother or a small saucepan, mix + heat all ingredients. Pour + top with additional sea salt if desired.

Caramel Sauce (optional):

  • To make a quick caramel sauce, heat 3/4 cup coconut sugar with 1 cup coconut cream over medium heat, stirring until it reaches a boil. Lower heat + let simmer for 15 minutes stirring occasionally. Let cool for 10 minutes + enjoy.
