Matcha Nude Highball
Matcha and Highballs are classic beverage choices in Japan. While matcha and highballs have vastly different uses in the day to day, we thought it would be fun to combine the two. Highballs are typically a combination of Japanese whiskey and club soda or soda water. A variety of versions of the mixed drink are found in izakayas & bars all across Japan. Highballs can be easily created with a fun twist. Below is the Matcha Nude version of just that!
What You’ll Need
- 1 part Japanese whiskey or beverage of choice
- ½ tsp of Matcha Nude Matcha
- 3 parts bubbly water
- Citrus &/ or herbs of your choice
How to Make Your Matcha Highball
- Heat water (just under boiling is ideal for matcha)
- Pour 1-2 tbs of water over the matcha powder
- Whisk swiftly until fully dissolved
- Pour matcha and whiskey over desired ice (if you have a shaker mix at this point) - Pour bubbly water over the top
- Add desired citrus or herbs for garnish
- If you desire to sweeten this up, mix honey with the hot tea before icing or add your favorite simple syrup
- ENJOY!
Try out some variety with these easy tips
- Play around with different flavors of sparkling water
- Leave out the whiskey and replace it with bitters or your favorite non-alcoholic elixirs for booze-free enjoyment
- Muddle fruits or herbs to take this to the next level (think berries, citrus, mint, or lemon balm.. the options are endless)
- Switch out the whiskey for your favorite alcoholic beverage
