Matcha Hummus
I absolutely adore hummus and I make it year round. I love flavoured hummus, traditional hummus, hummus with veggies, crackers, flat breads, drizzled with oils and topped with nuts, olives or seeds.
I take it to BBQ's, eat it as a snack in the middle of the day, put it on my sandwiches and have it ready in the fridge ready to go all the time.
So of course I needed to make a Matcha version.
INGREDIENTS:
3 cups of peeled chickpeas (cooked or canned, if canned, rinse well)
3 Tablespoons of tahini
¼ cup of warm water or chickpea liquid
1 clove of garlic or more if you like a garlicy taste
Juice of 1 lemon
½ teaspoon of salt
2 Tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil 1
1/2 teaspoon of Matcha green tea powder
HOW TO:
1. In the bowl of a food processor, place the chickpeas and pulse them until they all breakdown and have a fine texture.
2. Add the remaining ingredients and process until the hummus is smooth. Taste and adjust with extra salt, lemon, juice, tahini (for thickness), water (for thinning out).
3. Add the matcha powder and process until blended and the hummus is green. Drizzle with some olive oil on top and serve with your favourite dippers.
