We're thrilled to bring you a delightful concoction in collaboration with Retro Coffee from the vibrant streets of Asheville - Key Lime Pie Matcha! This playful twist on a classic favorite is not only delicious but also a refreshing addition to your matcha repertoire. Let's dive into the recipe:

Key Lime Pie Syrup Ingredients:

  • 1 can (11.6oz/330g) of dairy-free sweetened condensed coconut milk
  • 1 cup of light brown sugar
  • Juice from one whole key lime (roll it on the counter to soften it)
  • 1 1/2 cups of water

How to make the syrup:

  1. In a large pot, combine the dairy-free sweetened condensed coconut milk, water, and light brown sugar over medium heat.
  2. Stir continuously until the mixture is well combined and smooth.
  3. Squeeze in the juice from the key lime and let the mixture simmer for approximately 10 minutes.
  4. Once simmered, remove from heat and let it cool.
  5. Transfer the cooled syrup to a container and store it in the fridge.

Serving Suggestion:

  • Make your matcha shot (1/2 tsp matcha with 2 tbsp water)
  • Add the syrup according to your preferred matcha drink size:
    • For a 12oz drink, add 1/2 oz of syrup.
    • For a 16oz drink, add 1 oz of syrup.
    • For a 20oz drink, add 2 oz of syrup.
  • Add hot or cold plant milk of choice
